where's charlie?
I was folding laundry this morning and realized it was too quiet- so I went to find Charlie. Last time this quiet lingered, I found him on top of of our computer desk changing the settings of our mac. This time however, I found him in his room reading a book to himself... so sweet!
If you're wondering what he is wearing... these are the tractor p.j.'s Yaya got him that are so ugly they are cute. He is pointing at the cow and saying, "moo".

plum tart creation
It was a busy weekend for us, mainly because Chris spoke at church. He was busy preparing last week and then exhausted after the services today. (He did really well, I should add. The topic was on how we as parents are the primary shaping influence on our kids' spiritual development...) Anyway, while Chris and Charlie took naps this afternoon- I made this plum tart because I was trying to find use for the dozen plums we got through our food co-op this week. It was therapeutic to create a new recipe, even though I probably should have been studying because I have a re-certification test tomorrow for pediatric advanced life support... so that's what I'm going to do now...

playing with pudding
We've been getting pretty bored staying inside, so I've been trying to come up with some activities to hold this little one's attention. I found a website that has given me some ideas such as putting all the cereal boxes on the kitchen floor and pushing them over dominos style. Today we tried finger painting with pudding. Fun and messy! Any other suggestions from you super moms would be greatly appreciated!

Mr. & Mrs. Sousa
Congrats Cory & Candace!
It was a joy to share your special day with you!
Cory was Chris' roomate in college and I got to know him while Chris & I were dating/engaged since I seemed to be always over at their apartment. Cory is a great guy who met a sweetheart in Candace. We are so happy for them!
And, it was fun dressing up to celebrate this union.
back from San Diego (again)
Since we already spent time in San Diego this summer, most of our favorite spots have been 'hit up by the Hedrick's'... (Anthony's Fish Grotto, Old Town, Mission Beach, etc.) This weekend was all about Cory & Candace's wedding and we felt like we could relax because we weren't trying to cram all our spots into one weekend. But we did manage to find time this morning to stand in line for a cheap breakfast at Kono's at Pacific Beach. This place is a legend and I'm posting about it as a 'must hit' San Diego spot!

MOO TIME
In Coronado, if you asked Reagan "what time is it?" She would resond, "moo time!" We seriously hit up this creamery practically every night. (sometimes twice a day... david & cara!) Charlie was fond of the cow and the statue, which is why he can now say, "Elvis". We all found our favorite flavors and learned the menu- enough for my mom to yell out to stangers that certain sundaes have "TWO SCOOPS!" Anyway good times at Moo Time! Oh yeah, the line was always so long, it was as if people had never had ice-cream before, but we stood in line with the best of them. This ice cream DID taste better than any other attempts!

bEaCh BaBe!
Garrett is here!
We just got back from vacation with my family to Coronado Island, except the family wasn't 'complete'... Scott and Amber missed the trip to make THE TRIP to Ethiopia to bring Garrett home! We just met him this morning and he is a sweetheart. They are exhausted after 36 hours of travel and adjusting to life with two kids. Charlie is so excited to have a boy cousin. I'm sure Amber will post more info about their Ethiopia experience on their family blog:
