I made a calendar for us to have activities planned {pretty much} every day to survive this summer. Some days it's as simple as going to the library, a splash pad, or to Grandma & Grandpa's neighborhood pool. There were a few days where I was more ambitious on the activity planning. Today was one of them:
BoWLiNg!
Turns out, Charlie is a natural. Good thing, because when he was two he claimed he wanted to be a bowler when he grows up. Bumpers were in play, but not necessary. And he didn't roll the ball, like most little kids; he actually threw it down the lane and scored a 66.
Ethan: This is where the title 'great balls of fire' comes in. He didn't have trouble lifting those heavy bowling balls, but he did have trouble waiting for his turn to bowl. So, imagine this: Charlie's trying to bowl. Ethan is lugging his ball up to the lane. I'm chasing Ethan and end up lifting him + 7 lb. ball to stop him from interfering in Charlie's game. He proceeds to scream until it's his turn again. (Great balls of fire.)
Good times.
I think our next bowling adventure will be either me or Chris taking Charlie on a date minus the little brother. We got to keep him practicing if he's going to pursue a career in this sport.
