friendship corner

A few families from church were so sweet to invite us to join their 'friendship corner'.
It's a preschool co-op type get together. This group has 4 boys {all 4 years old} in it. We switch houses each week and do a little lesson, but mostly just let the boys play together. It was our turn to host last week, so I thought I'd share my lesson plan.
(You know you were NOT MEANT to be a teacher, when you stress over a lesson plan for 4-year-olds who just want to ride their scooters anyway. Note to self.)

theme verse: "A friend loves at all times." Proverbs 17:17
letter: L
shape: heart
color: red

I sent the boys all over the house on a scavenger hunt to find something red:
We played a musical chairs type game, using hearts instead of chairs to this song:
We snacked on red food:
We worked on writing the letter 'L' with these print outs I found.
They each counted out 20 candy conversation hearts and we graphed the colors.
They played our new favorite game: connect 4 launchers:
& they spent the rest of their time together with a lot of scooter riding!
