camping with toddlers=filth fest

Since we are official REI members now (as Chris buys all his gadgets for his long bike trip this summer...), we decided we needed to live the part and take these boys camping. We have a few destinations planned in the months ahead, but our first adventure was to Roosevelt Lake. They were in their stick finding, rock climbing, sleeping bag sleeping, filthy element.

climbing in & out of the tent again & again:
sunset over four peaks:
getting ready for smores. i had no idea how filthy he actually was until the flash of the camera exposed the truth.
a beautiful morning after a great night's sleep (NOT!):
boy talk:
firewood collecting:
charlie learning to fish. basically, he got the hang of casting but he kept wanting to reel it in to cast it out again. needless to say, no fish were caught...
yes, ethan's holding a worm. & yes i picked it up out of the bait jar and handed it to him.
shout out to moms of boys!
