Buzz & Jessie (?)

It was a mom-mistake.
...a halloween mishap.
My intention was for the boys to be Buzz & Woody from Toy Story:

We got the Buzz costume as a hand-me-down from a friend and I hit a used kids' clothing store to find Ethan his Woody costume. (Charlie was at preschool at the time, or he would have informed me that that was not Woody...)
I tried the costume on Ethan in the store and he loved it. I thought it was a little tight (maybe too tight...) but I thought that was due to his body build, not that it was meant for a girl.
I hid the costumes from them because I didn't want them to get ruined before Halloween.
So, 5 minutes before trick or treating, we helped them into their costumes and Charlie said, "Why is Ethan 'Jessie'?"

-pause-

At that moment, it all dawned on me and I demanded Chris to google what Jessie's costume looked like. ...yep.
Ethan didn't know the difference [that night].
He might be furious with me [in the future].
A few trick or treating kids asked, "Is he Jessie?"
But, what I took away from all this is:
If I'm buying character costumes, I can't assume the added frill is just because it's a Disney character and I should probably have my right hand 4-year-old with me to give me the truth before it's too late.

My sister, Cara was a gardener with her lady bug Stella and bee, Mia!
Cousin Reagan came trick or treating with us.
She also knew the difference between Woody and Jessie..
(Garrett was sick.)
See!?
All is forgiven once they have suckers in hand.
