How does your garden grow?

Well, we hope ours does grow!
(despite my not so green thumb and the scorching heat that defines the state we live in...)
We have been looking for something to replace our dead rose bushes and thought we could keep a garden alive, even though we neglected those roses. Hmm. Maybe a raised bed with a drip system will at least gave our little seedlings a chance, since I'm known for forgetting to water plants.
Our fall line up:
It turns out I was more ambitious when it came to buying seeds than actually planting them. I heard that corn attracts a lot of bugs (in the actual corn husks, which would make me not want to eat it) and takes up a lot of room, so they got booted. I did plant cucumbers, but no signs of any sproutage, so they might have to be a re-do.
My helper boy.
The other one was not so helpful. He was more of a dirt thrower.
But, look what we have here!
There is life forming in this little raised bed on the side of our house.
Pumpkins (I know, not so practical, but how cute will they be?):
& bush beans (these guys are sprouting up like crazy- although I'm not quite sure what a 'bush bean' is... Is it like a green bean? Since they seem to be dominating at this point, I better figure out how to put them to good use!):
Transplants are next. I don't feel hopeful that tomatoes will stand the heat, so we're going to wait until it's not in the 100's anymore before we move those over. When will that be?
