So, most likely Ethan's build is not ideal for the olympic gymnastic team, but for now we're having a lot of fun at his 'little gym' class on Wednesday's while Charlie's at preschool. The first two weeks, I witnessed some major baby temper-tantrums when it was time to put the bells away and when it was time to leave... (imagine him throwing his body on the floor, face in the mat and kicking, then throwing his body over and repeating the scenerio on his back. I just watched in horror, thinking "are you serious, child?") Well, it's amazing how repetition works on their little brains. Today was week 4 and he willingly put the bells away without a fuss. He also claps along with all the transition songs and is a cheerful volunteer to demonstrate the 'skill of the week'. (video at the end of this post is him doing a backwards roll...) I love that Ethan and I get some time to play together without big brother. Even though, he's completely content to be Charlie's side kick- I like that he gets to establish some independence and it's fun to watch him experience new skills that are developmentally appropriate as opposed to all the skills he picks up from mimic-ing his bro.
(side note: today he said "bubbles" so add that to the list of words that also include "ball", "mama", "dada", "uh-oh", and "cat")
