Easter aftermath

Here's some highlights of some of our Easter traditions/new one's we tried from this year:
Of course, dyeing eggs:
Charlie's favorite was an egg with a Lightning McQueen wrap:
I was worried that the dye wouldn't come off his hands and he would have matching blue hands for his blue button down shirt on Easter Sunday.
(a long bath later got it off...)
We made resurrection cookies the night before Easter. I could see this being a big hit in the future. When we put them in the oven and taped it up (resembling sealing the tomb) I said, "Jesus' friends were so sad that he was in the tomb, and we can't eat our cookies tonight- does that make you sad?" He said, "no."
Oh.
But, they did start our morning off with a sugar rush.
My friend, Jen told me that when she was growing up they made their own 'tombs' on Good Friday with a cardboard toilet paper roll. They would cover it with mud, grass, rocks, etc. and find a big rock to cover the entrance. She said friends would come over and ask, "What are those?" And they would say, "our tombs." (like little weirdos...) But, I thought the boys would be all about that next year.

So, today with Easter behind us, I guess I'm taking down our decorations.
I'm in the mood for spring cleaning.
I will probably make egg salad for lunch with our great number of hard boiled eggs.
